We will walk you through the main injuries and illnesses your child will experience, how to manage these at home and at what point you will need to get more help. 

You will also learn what the top 5 causes of death in children are, and steps you can take now to prevent a lot of these.

The Works runs for 4 hours, with a short break in the middle of the session.

You will learn about:

-Baby and child resuscitation (DRSABCD/CPR) including AED training.

-Choking

-Life threatening bleeding

-Accident awareness and prevention (such as car accidents and drowning)

-Head injury

-Fractures and dislocations

-Burns

-Allergy and anaphylaxis

-Respiratory Distress and how to recognise this in infants especially.

-Croup

-Fever

-Convulsions

-Bites and Stings

-Poisons

Our workshops are highly engaging and hands on. Every participant has 2 manikins each (baby and small child) which you will learn to provide rescue breaths directly in to.

Our manikins are also equipped with bluetooth technology to give you feedback on the quality of your rescue breaths and compressions via an app on your phone, so you can be even more confident on your ability to provide quality CPR in the event you might need it.

Safe Sprouts workshops are only ever run by highly experienced Registered Paramedics with backgrounds in clinical education. You know that your educator has personally attended to and treated first hand the very topics you are learning about.
